The Original band

From our formation in the Autumn of 2008 to Snapper’s retirement in the Winter of 2018 the original band performed extensively. The journey was long and somewhat unexpected- filled with laughter and the odd tear.

The members of the original 3 piece took on nicknames, Ben became ‘Country boy’ and the two Dave’s ‘Fingers’ and ‘Snapper’. These names became part of a stage routine that, for all their best efforts (mainly by Fingers), was at times chaotic, but always fun and more often than not, heartfelt. 3 blokes from totally different backgrounds and tastes forging a friendship and making original ukulele music together.

10 years, a few NZ tours and trips across the ditch, countless festival appearances, with a few shows in a sold-out Spiegletent ( a venue made for us)- riding by the seat of our pants and sometimes fueled by beer- for a ukulele trio it was edgy and a lot of fun.

Times change, that’s life, Snapper Thiele, always a Nuke.

Affectionately your pals - Fingers and Country boy.
